From our central hub at the renowned Christ Medical Center, where we are at the forefront of oncology care, level 1 trauma services, and pediatric radiology, to our collaboration with leading breast surgeons in the Chicagoland area, we are elevating the standard of healthcare. Primary site of coverage is Christ Medical Center, the largest of Advocate hospitals. It serves as a large oncology referral center, Level 1 trauma center and has pediatric radiology services. We partner with some of the best breast surgeons in the Chicagoland area providing services for Christ Medical Center’s dedicated outpatient women’s imaging clinic in Oaklawn. South Hub Radiology also provides services for South Suburban Hospital, High Tech and Advocate Medical Group clinics in the southern suburbs.

Physician Assistant
Job Description
SHR is a forward-thinking group of 25 subspecialized radiologists providing quality patient care in a fast-paced, high volume, multifaceted healthcare system. SHR is a member of Integrated Imaging Consultants (IIC), a consortium of physician-led Chicagoland radiology practices with a stable relationship and contract with Advocate Aurora Health. SHR is the exclusive provider of radiology services for Advocate Christ Medical Center, Advocate South Suburban Hospital and several outpatient facilities. Advocate Christ Medical Center is an 800-bed, level 1 trauma center and one of the major referral centers for a number of specialties, including oncology, cardiovascular, transplant (kidney, heart, lung), and women’s health. We are a collegial group with a transparent and equitable governance structure with leadership opportunities for all members including advanced practice providers.
Position Duties and Responsibilities:
Clinical
-
- Assist with pre-procedure patient evaluation and preparation including reviewing pertinent labs and imaging, completing H&Ps, consents, and collaborating with staff to expedite patient care
- Complete inpatient rounding, inpatient and outpatient consults in collaboration with interventional radiologists, order pertinent labs, imaging, and follow-up, and document plan in medical record
- Provide follow-up care including follow-up phone calls, answering patient and family questions and concerns, and coordinate care with other providers to optimize patient care
- May require commuting between hospitals based upon service needs
- Potential for shared evening and weekend call coverage based upon service needs (for additional compensation)
Procedural
-
- Assist with interventional radiology procedures as directed by IR, including, but not limited to:
- Thoracentesis under ultrasound guidance
- Paracentesis under ultrasound guidance
- PICC placement and exchange with ultrasound and/or fluoroscopic guidance
- Prescribing and supervising conscious sedation
- Placement, exchange, and removal of tunneled and non-tunneled catheters including implanted ports
- Lumbar puncture and myelography under fluoroscopic guidance
- Injection, exchange, and removal of drainage catheters including abscess drains, gastrostomy tubes, nephrostomy tubes, and cholecystostomy tubes
- Percutaneous biopsy including thyroid and superficial lymph node under ultrasound guidance
- Arthrocentesis and joint injection under ultrasound or fluoroscopic guidance
- Assist with diagnostic GI/GU fluoroscopy procedures, including, but not limited to:
- Video Fluoroscopic Swallow Study
- Upper and Lower GI
- VCUG
- Assist with interventional radiology procedures as directed by IR, including, but not limited to:
If unfamiliar and/or uncomfortable with these procedures, our team will train you; this is a great opportunity for on-the-job training from a highly talented group of IRs in a fun, collegial environment.
Requirements

- Graduation from an ARC-PA accredited Physician Assistant program
- PA-C certification
- IL State license
- Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications - may be obtained/renewed on-site
- National Provider Identifier (NPI)
